SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Please read the guidelines carefully before submitting


Fotoqrafika is an independent online photography magazine dedicated to strong visual storytelling. We curate and publish coherent photographic projects by professional and emerging photographers worldwide.

1. What we publish


Each issue of Fotoqrafika features:

 

  • Curated photographic series

  • Visual projects and essays

  • Interviews and behind-the-scenes insights

  • Thematic galleries

  • We prioritize cohesive bodies of work over single standalone images.

2. Who can submit

 

  • Professional and emerging photographers

  • Open worldwide

  • No age restrictions

  • Individual photographers (collectives by exception)

3. Submission requirements

 

  • Maximum 10 images per photographer

  • Images must belong to one coherent project or series

  • Previously published work is accepted


Optional Materials

  • Artist statement (150–300 words)

  • Project essay (up to 1,200 words)

  • BTS material or short Q&A (optional)

  • Short biography (50–80 words)

4. Image specifications

 

  • Format: JPEG

  • Color profile: sRGB

  • Resolution:

    • Minimum 3000 px on the long edge

    • 300 DPI at intended size

  • No watermarks, borders, or embedded text


Submissions that do not meet these requirements may not be reviewed.

5. Text specifications

 

  • Submit all text as DOCX or Google Docs

  • Plain text only (no formatting)

  • Azerbaijani or English language

  • Fotoqrafika reserves the right to edit text for clarity and length

6. File naming & folder structure


Please organize your submission as follows:


Images

Firstname_Lastname_Imagenumber

    Firstname_Lastname_01.jpg

    Firstname_Lastname_02.jpg


Text

    Bio.txt

    Statement.docx

    Credits.txt


Credits.txt must include:

  • Photographer name

  • Project title

  • Year of creation

  • Location (if relevant)

  • Website / Instagram (optional)


Photos that do not comply with the above specifications will not be published, and we will not contact photographers to inform them of photos that do not comply.

7. How to submit

 

  • Upload files to Google Drive, WeTransfer or Dropbox

  • Share one download link

  • Do not send files via email attachments

8. Review & selection process

 

  • Submissions are reviewed by the Fotoqrafika editorial team

  • Due to volume, individual feedback cannot be provided

  • Selected contributors will not be contacted directly except for unique situations when contact is necessary. 

  • Selection is based on visual strength, coherence, and relevance to the issue

9. Rights & usage

 

  • Photographers retain full copyright to their work. No image may be reproduced without the express written permission of its owner.

  • By submitting, contributors grant Fotoqrafika permission to publish the work in:

    • The magazine (digital / PDF)

    • Official Fotoqrafika website, social channels and/or use it for promotional material

  • All published work is fully credited

  • No part of the publication may be reproduced and/or used in any form, electronic or mechanical, without the prior written consent of the publisher.

10. Fees & compensation

 

  • No submission fees

  • Contributions are currently published on a non-paid basis

  • This policy may evolve in future issues

11. Final notes

 

  • Incomplete or improperly formatted submissions may not be reviewed

  • Submission does not guarantee publication

  • Fotoqrafika reserves the right to decline submissions without explanation
